Job Title: Senior English First Language Teacher
Location: [Elkanah House High School
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior English Teacher to join our team at Elkanah House High School. The Senior English Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging and challenging English lessons for high school students, providing instruction in literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in English education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum for English classes that align with IEB standards and school goals
- Teach a range of English courses, including literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students
- Provide feedback and support to students on their academic progress
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive and supportive learning community
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in English education and incorporate them into lesson plans
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and parent-teacher conferences
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Teaching certification/license in English
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching English at the high school level
- Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and writing skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents
